The Phoenix and Rock of Ages family sends out a rockin' congratulations to our very own Stacee Jaxx, Joshua Hobbs! After the April 1st performance in Buffalo at Shea's Performing Arts Center , Josh popped the question to the love of his life, Mariah Lewkowitz, ROA style!
The review in the NY Theatre Guide said it all. "It was also very exciting to see that, at the show’s conclusion, actor Joshua Hobbs proposed to his girlfriend of five years in front of three thousand smiling and applauding audience members and his fellow cast. She said yes! Here’s to a happy life together!"
“success is helped to a great degree by the uniformly brilliant and brilliantly talented cast. Leading the way is Dominique Scott as Drew…He's also got an astounding amount of stage presence and charisma, while being instantly likeable. He has an equal in Shannon Mullen, playing his love interest… Sherrie…. Brian Ashton Miller as Dennis and Andrew Sklar as Lonny…. The two of them make a fantastic onstage pair… Sklar deserves special mention for his performance of Lonny, who is also the musical's narrator. He brings such joy to every moment, he's lovable and fun to watch, as he sort of guides the plot along, with a grin and a wink to the audience.” - Broadway World
Life comes full circle for Shannon Mullen.

Rock of Ages is honestly the best thing that ever happened to me and it has changed my life forever. At the time I first heard of Rock of Ages, I was struggling because of years of bullying at school. My confidence was at an all-time low. Since I was brought up on 80’s rock music and I loved musical theatre, the sound track provided me with the perfect escape. I dreamed of seeing the play, and in 2011 my parents took me to see ROA on Broadway for my 13th birthday.
The show was everything I thought it would be and I left feeling great about life. That October, the Phoenix Entertainment National Tour opened in Providence, RI and my family and I went to see it. While we were only planning on seeing one performance we ended up seeing four times that week. After the Saturday matinee, we went to the stage door hoping to meet the cast. One by one they came over to me because they had seen me in the front row and they loved the fact that I was so into the show.
When Stephen Michael Kane/Franz came up to me I felt an instant connection to him. He was so warm and kind. He offered to give me a back stage tour the next day. It was a dream come true. To this day Stephen is always willing to guide me on my endeavors. He has a heart of gold. This was only the beginning of my Rock of Ages saga. It has been two years, 10 cities and 21 shows. I still leave the theatre after every show as if it was the first time I saw the show.
I have special memories of each and every cast member that I will treasure forever. I am especially lucky to be able to call Shannon Mullen/Sherrie and Dominique Scott/Drew friends. They have become the greatest mentors a girl could ask for. Shannon has an incredible presence that shines both on and off the stage. We share the same dream, to star on Broadway and with her mind blowing talent I have no doubt she will. She makes me believe in myself.
Dom is an astounding musical talent and is well on the way to an incredible future, but it is his heart that makes him spectacular. He has a way of always making me feel special. I am now a sophomore at a charter school for the arts majoring in theatre. I have gained confidence because of my journey with Rock of Ages. While this may be cheesy, Rock of Ages really did teach me one thing – “Don’t Stop Believing!”
Phoenix Entertainment is extremely proud to announce that Helen Hayes Award winner Kadejah One will be joining the 2014 National Tour of ROCK OF AGES as Justice.
Dominique Scott and Shannon Mullen are ready to jump back into their roles as Drew and Sherrie and rock the stages of America. Phoenix Entertainment is thrilled to have these two talented individuals return to Rock of Ages as critics and audiences alike have raved about their performances.
"It’s a rare actor, who can credibly and simultaneously play an ‘80s rock frontman, and a nice guy seeking the girl he loves. Scott gave a superb performance as Drew." - Enjoying Philadelphia.com
"Shannon Mullen delights with a perfect rocker-chic look and makes her transition from bright eyed ingénue to sassy stripper to wholesome leading lady as convincing as she possibly can. She’s also got one heck of a voice that imbues her bluesy ballads with a vibrant tone, and she fearlessly goes full force in her powerhouse duets with Drew, matching her man in both power and pizzazz" - Broadway San Diego

“A live five-piece band is performing and the actors are singing songs from such ‘80s bands and performers as Guns ‘N Roses, Poison, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot and Journey.
The wall of sound they create is delivered by a fine company of players and musicians. The result is a first-rate production of an extremely entertaining show.” - The Florida Times-Union

“If you see anyone walking around over the next several days throwing up the heavy metal horns hand signal or belting out any number of classic ‘80s rock songs, it’s because Portland Ovations had the wisdom to bring the Tony Award-winning musical “Rock of Ages” to Merrill Auditorium on Saturday night.” - Portland Press Herald
The performers in this American touring production are talented, dynamic and smoothly professional….But it’s Amma Osei as the strip-club mama who has the truly show-stopping voice.
We don’t get nearly enough of Amma Osei… She is the real deal—a singer whose voice and presence demand attention.”

"The musical “Rock of Ages'' had a landslide victory as it opened a five-performance run Friday night at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts.
“Rock of Ages” is good looking and very sexy (and yes, there is a PG-13 advisory). A nearly sold out audience of 2,000 people were on their feet at the end of the end of the show's two-and-a-half hour “Journey” Friday clapping along to what has become a great and enduring anthem, “Don't Stop Believin' ” The scene looked like a victory party.
It is a breath of fresh air to see a relatively new show — “Rock of Ages” opened on Broadway in 2009 — come across so well and with such energy and conviction"
-Worcester, Mass Telegram
"You MUST see it live. "Rock of Ages" soars with visual treats, sonic pleasures and pure fun. Nolan - as washed-up rocker Stacee Jaxx - radiates charisma (or is that his sparkling costume?) He rocks Slade song "Come On Feel the Noize" and feels larger than life any time he's on the stage. Amma Osei (Justice) wows the crowd with a powerhouse voice and a "Harden My Heart/Shadows of the Night" mashup. Her solo parts on "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" will make you believe the song should be sung by a diva."
“Rock of Ages,” in fact, may be the most fun Iʼve ever had in the theater. This gloriously lusty, irreverent party never lets up. The rock band smokes, the actors thrill, and the dancing is – well – awesome. “Rock of Ages” feels more like the best concert youʼ ve ever seen, bursting with energy and the occasional singing into bathroom plungers and broomsticks. The acting is campy and over-the-top, and the voices are leather- lunged and righteous.

Director Kristin Hanggi paid a visit to the ROA company in New Orleans where critics said:
'Rock of Ages' rocks the house at Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans"
"Neither rock nor theater fans will be disappointed. Bring your lighters for the power ballad."
"This five-time Tony-nominated musical has it all; awesome ‘80s music, a live band, outrageous costumes and great timing. Grab your friends, and re-live the rock!"
"Better than on Broadway because of its killer cast"
- Philadelphia Inquirer
"Top talent helps 'Ages" Rock on!"
- Durham News Observer
"The acting and singing are spectacular"
- The Brown Daily Herald
"The show’s blazing finale, when the talented cast and a pulsing five-piece band belt out "Don’t Stop Believin’," was definitely worth the price of admission."
- Providence Journal
"Columbo is top-rate as the amusing Lonny, a true rocker with a gentle side. He’s lewd and crude, and often flat-out funny as he drops the fourth wall to draw the audience into the show."
"Lead guitarist Chris Cicchino often steals the show, spinning out awesome solo riffs. And there are some real solid singers among the cast, including Dominique Scott's Drew and Matt Nolan, who plays the self-absorbed Stacee, who tries to get Sherrie fired after having sex with her in the men’s room of the Bourbon Room. Both Scott and Nolan are rock band material."
